PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATION
TRUCK, FORKLIFT, 4,000 AND 6,200 POUND CAPACITY,
FRONT/SIDE LOADING, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
This specification is approved for use by the Department of the Air Force and is available for use
by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 . Scope. This Specification covers a front/side loading, sit-down rider, diesel-
engine-driven, counter-balanced forklift truck. The truck will have a telescopic mast, front
wheel drive, power steering, hydraulic brakes, solid pneumatic tires, and an overhead guard.
1.2 Classification. Forklifts will be one of the following types as specified (see 6.2):

Types. The types of pound capacity at load center are as follows:
Type I: - 4,000 pound capacity at 24 inch load center
Type II: - 6,200 pound capacity at 24 inch load center
1.3 Part or Identifying Number (PIN). The following PIN procedure is for government
purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. The PIN to be used for this
