COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TRUCK, AIRCRAFT BAGGAGE LOADING-UNLOADING
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item
Description (CID) for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE.
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers the general requirements for a self- contained, self-propelled, operator driven vehicle mounted belt conveyor for use to load and unload aircraft baggage and cargo, and for the movement of material handling ground support equipment.
2. CLASSIFICATION.
2.1 Classification. The operator driven vehicle covered by this CID shall be commercially available and may be modified to the extent necessary to meet this description.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
The operator driven vehicle shall be capable of operation within the accuracies, limits, and specifications herein.
3.1. Dimensions. The fully operational vehicle shall have a wheelbase of not less than 94 inches, with overall dimensions for length of the vehicle not to exceed 300 inches, width 84 inches, and height 59 inches. Conveyor dimensions shall not exceed the length 300 inches, overall width 36 inches, and a minimum belt width of 24 inches.
