4.5.2. Tests. The truck shall be tested to demonstrate compliance with the requirements set forth in section 3 in accordance with procedures shown in section 4. When the contractor can provide verifiable data demonstrating to any or all parts of the specified testing, these tests may be waived by the Government. Failure to complete the requirements of one or more tests shall constitute failure of the tests. Table III indicates the items that shall be tested and the paragraphs which apply.
4.5.2.1 Test schedule.
4.5.2.2 Test methods. Tests shall be conducted in accordance with appendix tests methods, and as specified herein. Unless otherwise specified herein, tests shall be conducted at the ambient temperature and climatic conditions. Only that maintenance established by the contractor and submitted as a maintenance schedule prior to commencement of the test shall be performed during the test. Test may be conducted in any order except the truck operations test shall be conducted last.
4.5.2.2.1 Rated load. The tolerances for weight shall be +0 percent and -
1 percent and for dimensions shall be ±1 percent.
4.5.2.2.2 Environmental requirements. Demonstrate that the truck can start without preheating within 5 minutes and operate as specified within 15 minutes after engine start as specified in 3.4. The forklift shall have been cold soaked to attain a stabilized temperature specified. Nonconformance shall constitute failure of this test.
4.5.2.2.3 Human factors engineering. The human factors engineering characteristics of the truck will be evaluated during all testing. Nonconformance to 3.6 shall constitute failure of this evaluation.
4.5.2.2.4 Starter disconnect. Place the transmission in gear and engage the starter switch. Repeat for all forward and reverse gears. Any evidence
