TEST METHOD NO. 6
UPRIGHT TILT
1. Test Course:
Level, flat surface.
2. Test Procedures:
a. Tilt.
(1) Place truck without load on flat surface.
(2) Raise forks to an elevation of 2 feet above the surface, tilt boom as far forward as possible, and record angle of tilt.
(3) Tilt boom as far rearward as possible and record angle of tilt. b. Tilt cavitation.
(1) Tie down rear of the truck to prevent overturning.
(2) Install pressure gage to read hydraulic pressure at head end of tilt cylinder.
(3) Raise rated load to maximum lift height with mast vertical.
(4) Without adjustment of height control, tilt load to full forward tilt at engine low idle by opening forward tilt valve
completely (no feathering of valve is permitted). (5) Record lowest pressure reading at tilt cylinder.
(6) Repeat b(3), (4), and (5) by feathering valve to produce slowest tilt speed practical.
(7) Record lowest pressure reading at tilt cylinder.
