of starter engagement shall constitute failure of this test. Start the truck by energizing the starter switch. Release starter switch and immediately reactivate starter switch while engine is operating. Any evidence of starter engagement while engine is running shall constitute failure of this test.
4.5.2.2.5 Production run-in. Each truck carrying a rated load, shall be subjected to a production run-in and servicing as specified herein. Inability to complete the run-in, overheating, failure of any components, malfunction of any control, or evidence of leakage of fluids shall be cause for rejection of the truck by the Government until such deficiencies are corrected.
4.5.2.2.5.1 Travel. Demonstrate starting, ascending and descending a 2( percent ramp, steering, inching and high speed travel. Operate all lights, horn, and brake system not less than two times during this test.
4.5.2.2.5.2 Transmission. Demonstrate that the number of speeds forward and reverse specified on the applicable specification sheet are provided. Demonstrate shifting under full power through all successive gear ratios in each direction. Demonstrate positive inching control in each direction and show that this control can declutch the transmission and brake the truck in accordance with 3.8.
4.5.2.2.5.3 Mast assembly. Demonstrate ability to lift rated load to full lift height at full lift speed and lower load at full opened valve without exceeding maximum lowering speed. Demonstrate ability to tilt mast full forward and full rearward with rated load 12 inches off the ground. Demonstrate ability to side shift rated load throughout full range of side shift. Demonstrate ability to feather hydraulic for control of all hydraulic functions. Each operation shall be performed at least three times.
